About the programme

Students share time between six top level technical universities in five Nordic countries, commencing with an intense introductory semester at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm focusing on a broad, solid base in energy engineering fundamentals. The second semester or next academic year would be spent at another partner university, specialising within key subject areas. During the studies, ISEE participants must spend a semester in minimum two (maximum three) of the Nordic partner universities.

Innovative and entrepreneurial aspects are highlighted within the programme. Research and education at the six participating universities is world leading within the field of renewable energy. The Nordic region is guiding the world to develop innovative and sustainable energy solutions as new and renewable energy concepts are being implemented into the Nordic societies.

Participants in the Nordic Master of Science programme in Innovative and Sustainable Energy Engineering will gain proficiency in energy technology fundamentals, energy project procurement and implementation, conventional and renewable energy conversion technologies, environmental protection issues, as well as in crucial phases of policy generation. Advanced training in a research-oriented perspective is also included.
